Are you decorating soon? I have so many tips and tricks that can help you make the most of your home.
Let me start by sharing three great decorating tips that you might not know!
Tip 1 – Testing your paint colours
Paint your tester colour on a large piece of white paper, preferably A3 size. This will enable you to move the tester paper around the space and you will see how the colour reacts in different parts of your room. If you have more than one colour to test, try to review them separately. When you have several testers side by side it is difficult to get a true sense of the individual colour as you will be comparing it to the others beside it.
You can also paint a few tester sheets of the same colour and stick them up in various parts of the room. Then live with them for a few days and see how you feel when you look at them. This will also help you to see how the paint colour changes from day to evening.
Ultimately all of the above will help you make a decision without the sense of overwhelm!
Tip 2 – Make your room feel bigger by Colour Drenching
It is difficult to read the confines of a room when everything is one colour which makes it seem bigger. This clever trick is achieved by painting the walls, ceiling and woodwork in one colour. This trick can also help disguise a multitude of sins such as ugly trims and weird sloped ceilings. It also makes rooms feel tranquil and elegant.
Tip 3 – Make your room feel lighter
A stronger colour on the woodwork than on the walls makes a room feel lighter. it’s a great idea if you are not brave enough to take a bold or dark colour on the walls this method gives your room a decorative twist without overwhelming the space. Strong woodwork draws the eye to a beautiful architectural feature within the room that you may wish to highlight.
